Perfecting Nails

Manicure #1 Make sure all of your nail polish is removed. #2 File your nails and soak them in warm, soapy water for a few minutes. #3 Dry your hands with a soft towel and rub hand lotion in. #4 Wash hands lightly with water afterwards and push your cuticles back gently using an orange wood stick. #5 However, never cut your cuticles because this can lead to infection or damage. #5  Apply a base coat first- this will protect your nail. #6 Then pick out a shade of polish and use 3 strokes to coat each nail. #7 Let dry and end with a top coat- this will keep your polish on longer and reduce chipping. Make sure nails are fully dry before handling anything.

Pedicure #1 Remove old polish with remover using cotton pads before starting. #2 However, don't use cotton balls (this will leave traces of cotton on your nails and be very clumpy and sticky once you start painting them). #3 Use large nail clippers and cut so your nails don't extend over the tip of your toe. #4 File around the corners of the nails in one direction with an emery board for a soft, square shape. #5 Get a large flat-bottom bowl to be your foot bath and fill it with warm water. #6 Add bath salts or aromatherapy oils to the bath and let your feet soak for a few minutes. #7 Add about a quarter cup of milk to warm water (lactic acid in the milk loosens dead skin).

Ped Egg

#8 Trim loose skin with a cuticle nipper (make sure not to cut your toe). #9 Rub the dead skin on the heels of your feet off with a foot file (such as a Ped Egg). #10 Dry feet with a towel and apply foot cream. #11 Use remover to get rid of extra oils on your feet. Pick out your favorite color and complete steps 6 and 7 in the above paragraph.

Clean out your Closet

There are 5 easy steps to organize your closet so you can be a clean chick.

  1. Sort the clothes in your closet according to sizes and color. Things that don't fit anymore should be put in a box and donated to a local charity.
  2. Make a diagram of your closet and plan where each thing should go, for example: jeans go in the bottom drawer, pajamas in the top, t-shirts go in the middle.
  3. Organize extra stuff in small bins, for example: white socks go in one bin, colored in another, undershirts in the next.
  4. Hang specific apparel on hangers, for example: jackets, sweaters, and dresses go on hangers.
  5. Look through all the other stuff in your closet that are not related to apparel. Put them in colorful labeled bins and stack them on your closet shelves.
